Parenteral Nutrition
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Manager Scientific Affairs & Liaison (m/f/d) for our Business Unit Parenteral Nutrition, Keto-Analogues & Standard I.V. Fluids, who will be responsible for the development of strong and sustainable relationships with thought leaders and ensure state-of the art professional scientific support for our product groups and therapeutic areas to successfully launch new products and penetrate the market with information for the appropriate product use.
Your assignments
Scientific affairs & liaison strategy and plan
- Continuously monitor latest medical-scientific trends (incl. regular monitoring of clinical trial databases and Pubmed/EMBASE, congress participation), customer experiences and needs as well as competitor activities and assess the business impact.
- Plan and execute scientific affairs and liaison strategy and tactics to support the successful launch of new products and to penetrate the market for the appropriate product use.
Scientific liaison
- Identify new key opinion leaders and build and sustain strong relationships.
- Initiate and implement scientific projects in collaboration with key opinion leaders.
- Represent Fresenius Kabi in external scientific meetings, e.g. congresses and guideline consensus conferences.
Scientific communication
Internal communication:
- Develop and share the regular literature newsletter “Scientific news & headlines” and congress reports to inform internal stakeholders about latest evidence relevant for our product group and therapeutic areas.
- Develop and share scientific presentations and FAQ documents on key publications and key scientific topics relevant for our product groups and therapeutic areas (e.g. new ESPEN guidelines).
External communication:
- Identify need for secondary publications (e.g. position papers, reviews) supporting successful product launches, penetrate market with information about the appropriate product use plan and implement secondary publication.
- Set up a publication strategy and plan, develop and submit secondary publications working closely together with key opinion leaders in the respective areas (product groups, therapeutic areas).
- Prepare and share scientific presentations to disseminate scientific information about the appropriate product use in the therapeutic areas in course of e.g. expert meetings, educational events.
Scientific support
- Work closely with the Marketing department supporting science-based product positioning and messages, creating scientific message-evidence-tables and narratives, perform scientific review and approval of promotion materials.
- Work closely with the Education & Training department providing scientific input to the agenda, selection of topics and speakers, preparing and performing speaker briefings.
- Work closely with Market Access supporting evidence-based value propositions and value messages, perform scientific review and approval of value communication tools/global value dossiers.
- Work closely with the Portfolio Strategy department on new idea discovery, concept development and preparation of project approvals providing new ideas, new product compositions and scientific rationales.
- Work closely with Regulatory Affairs regarding updated scientific rationales and review of SmPCs/PI of existing and new products.
- Scientific support of regions and market units regarding special scientific inquiries and internal product training courses.
- Scientific support in challenging competitor advertising as appropriate as well as in the defense of key claims upon challenge by competitor companies.
- Scientific support in review of clinical study documents.
Your profile
- University degree in Medicine, Pharmacy or Science (e.g. Nutritional Science, Biology) and specialization in therapeutic area of metabolic care (e.g. diabetes), preferably in clinical/parenteral nutrition.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry and in medical-scientific affairs (e. g. as a medical advisor or medical science liaison manager), or related functions.
- Proven track record of establishing and maintaining successful interactions and relationships with thought leaders.
- Ability to transfer complex science into simple, market-relevant medical-scientific concepts and messages.
- Advanced knowledge of international and local pharmaceutical laws, standards, regulations and codices.
- Fluent English language skills in speaking and writing; German and a third language would be an advantage.
